This pouch began with the oval riveted edged tan with black concho that was sewn to the left side giving off a western vibe. The carving pattern used not only stripes, but a french curve element on the flap starting with a black 1/8” line around the whole pouch, java brown stripe and curve next, a navy stripe on the right, an oxblood on the left with a center wider stripe of deep bison brown stamped with the randomly placed tri weave pattern, a favorite texture. Three cog buttons and gears of varying antique metallic colors and sizes are sewn above, around and to the right of the oval concho while the fourth “wheel” button adorns the center of the oxblood stamped scallop-edge leather circular concho that sits atop the leather “under rounder” that forms the wrap around and tie closure accomplished with bead tipped burgundy latigo thong. Rivets of three colors complete the highly decorated flap that is lined with black suede cloth to cover the stitching and riveting, giving the whole piece a finished feel. The pocket size used for this project was built to accommodate most larger modern cell phones and is slightly thicker to also carry other small items you need for a day of exploring conventions and faires—measuring 4-1/2” W X 6” to about 7 “ L (this is flexible due to the nature of the wrap round tie style closure) and 1-3/4” D. This rounded ends stiff boxlike pouch is constructed out of med to med heavy weight veg tan (about 7oz) uses many of my most classic pattern and building techniques; it fits on belts up to 2-1/2” wide. The belt shown in photos with this pouch is sold separately in another listing. TO REPEAT: THE BELT IS NOT INCLUDED.

Classic style pouches were originally made as companions to my galactic knight belt collection, and this pouch while not a knight pouch, still uses the basic design, with variations. The pockets are simple and sturdy—cut in one long rectangular piece with a rounded end flap that form the body of the pouch and the round ended rectangles (gussets) are stitched onto the side panels with a favorite overcast and wrapped stitch usually spaced about 1” apart and sealed completely with leather cement glue. A line carved about 1/8” to 1/4” from the edge encircles the entire body of the pouch and the side panels. Pouches are usually oiled, then often dyed with a combination of antique gel and colors and finally finished with more oil and several coats of acrylic sealant to protect the pieces from leaching onto costumes. The edges are burnished ,and the belt loop attaches to the pouch back with glue, rivets and stitching. Need other sizes or colors? or ideas? Reach out to me on my contact page.
