Leather Rich Browns Cell Phone Belt Pouch Embellished Natural Edge Flap Medusa Head and More
With a pewter Medusa head Romanesque button and a rather triangular silver tone fancy drop nearly “art noveau” pendant fished from my collection of greeblies, plus a row of four small black stone rivets attached to the sewn-on natural edge flap, this unique long and narrow pouch is a great way to carry and protect your communications device on your belt hands free.
No gears, clocks or keys. . . It still eschews the steampunk vibe (suggested browns and old timey looking decorations) , and my own favorite style pocket— a rounded ends stiff boxlike pouch constructed of medium weight veg tan leather using my favorite overlock and wrap stitch at 1” intervals to attach side oval ended gussets to a rectangular body (with the smaller natural edge flap as described above). All pouch pieces are carved around all edges with 1/8 line then dyed black, the main body is then given an 1/2” British Tan narrow stripe down the long sides to surround diagonally carved Oxblood interior; the small flap piece mirrors the dye job of the body without the diagonal carving.
I used black waxed thread for construction and for stitching on the decoration. A magnetic snap closure, black suede cloth fabric glued covers the stitching on the upper half and a heavy back strap to slide onto a belt up to 2” wide finishes the project. The belt shown in the photos with this pouch is sold in a different listing (Belt not included).
Pocket measures 7” L x 3-3/8” W x 1” D, accommodates most modern phones, but you must measure your phone, as it will not fit phones longer than 7”. REMEMBER: THE BELT IS NOT INCLUDED.

This is not my classic style pouch , but it does use the classic construction methods with the variations described in the listing. Pouches are usually oiled, then often dyed with a combination of antique gel and colors—black, bison brown, java brown, British tan, and oxblood, and finally finished with more oil and several coats of acrylic sealant to protect the pieces from leaching onto costumes. .
A magnetic snap glued invisibly to the flap and glued a second time with a fabric protector pairs with the hammer set receiver positioned about 1” from the top of the pocket determines the final size of the pouch. And the belt loop attaches to the pouch back with glue, rivets and stitching. Need other colors or have a design aesthetic you wish to acheive. . .contact me on my contact page to start a conversation
