The flap falls easily over the chamber and flexes the bag in length due to the wrapped thong and button style closure—2” shiny black button with indented spokes has a one of a kind antique nickel wavy second button stitched to a spacer —the soft burgundy latigo lacing tipped with wooden beads securely hold the flap in place.

Riveted to the back interior of the pocket is a zippered canvas (black) pocket that keeps your cell phone and other small essentials close at hand.

More about the design : the outer bag and flap features hand-embossed French curve elements: two of these deco fields are textured with random tri weave stamping pattern that have been dyed and painted dark British tan starkly contrasting the bright green painted and dark brown smooth sections. Gilt gold painted stamped scallops on dark purple stripes enhance the top of the bag where the flap is sewn on with a simple overcast and wrapped primitive stitching; and the same purple gold stripes are first curved across front, then picked up on the entire left side of the chamber and finally down the center of the wide British tan adjustable shoulder strap, which is buckled in place with a rounded corners rectangular brass buckle.

The entire bag features 1/4 line carved and painted darker brown stripe which is as distinctive to most Fabriquewerx leather goods as the overcast stitch and wrap element and the tendency toward natural edges.
