Green Celtic Tooled Triquetra on Smaller Tan and Brown Purse/Pouch with Coordinating Strap

$99.00

Two pieces: Purse/Pouch and Snap-on Strap (can be purchased separately.

A Celtic triquetra knot, hand carved and beveled, onto a tan circle patch was painted green then decorated with a nickel plated shamrock charm before it was overcast stitched with tan waxed cord and secured with 6 med antique nickel rivets onto the bag’s flap. That begins the story of this small and versatile pouch that doubles as a over the shoulder leather purse.

The gracefully flared and natural edged flap, measuring about 5”W flaring to 5-3/4” W X about 6” L was sewn onto the smaller pocket: about 5” W X 5-3/8” L X 1-1/4” D. A favorite overcast and wrapped primitive sewing technique in mid brown waxed cord attaches not only the flap to the main body of the pouch, but also the sides—a pair of the stiff rounded bottom gussets that measure about 1-1/4” W X 5-1/4”L—that produce the single cavity pouch .

The tree of life screw on concho mounted on and raised off the the bottom of the flap creates the wrap point for the black corset cord that holds the pouch closed(this wrap and tie closure makes the pouch adjustable in length and able to fit your longer cell phones.) Six small antique nickel rivets decorate the bottom edge of the naturally fluted asymmetrical flap

The pouch and flap are made of stiffer 4-5 oz veg-tan leather, the gussets are a little thicker. The flap was carved in a gentle curve, diagonally , in about half: top right half was dyed bison brown, while the bottom left half was stamped with random tri-weave “cloud” texture and dyed British Tan. The pocket under the flap carries the color themes introduced on the flap. it was divided vertically into three different sized stripes and dyed left to right, bison brown, then tan (to match the circle patch) and then finally “cloud” textured British Tan.

A sturdy back loop can accommodate belts up to 3” wide (not shown in the photo gallery that accompanies this listing) The belt pouch can double as a purse by snapping the 3/4” strap/belt (included in this set) around the antique nickel 3/4”d-rings which were added to the top of the side gussets, as shown in the photos.

The 3/4” heavy leather strap, lightly oiled, was brown to begin with. I line carved either side at about 1/4” and dyed those edges bison brown, leaving the interior stripe the original color. Either end is outfitted with a dyed to match lighter weight veg tan 3/4” leather tab that was riveted and stitched in place, then set up with line 24 heavy duty snaps, nickel plated. The nickel tone strap buckle is a traditional, sewn and riveted in place . Measuring about 40” up to 46” the strap as is fits many frames hip to hip, but can be easily adjusted by putting in more holes larger and smaller. Additionally, this small strap can be hooked around either side of the enclosed antique nickel tone ring to form a narrow waist belt that can also support the bag aka fanny pack.
