Stamped Wolfspaw Teal Concho on Tans Curvy Textured Stripes Purse/Pouch with Coordinating Strap

$105.00

Two pieces: Purse/Pouch and Snap-on Strap. A wolfspaw stamped into a scalloped leather concho, dyed black, brown, and painted teal, Is one of my favorite recurring themes: on this medium size pouch it serves as the decorative button that sits atop the rise off the flap—where the leather skull bead tipped thongs wrap and tie around, securing your belongings inside. A simple and useful closure, the wrap and tie method is a basic as you can get, and it allows you to adjust the length of the pouch to any size you need: Will this hold my smartphone too? Yes, it will.

The gracefully flared and naturally fluted edge flap, measuring about 5” flaring to 6” W X about 4-3/4” L was sewn onto the extended back of the pocket using a favorite overcast and wrapped stitch. I used 8 oz. black waxed Tiger thread—matches the black 1/4” line that accentuates all edges of the flap, pocket and side gussets— and attaches not only the flap to the main body of the pouch, but also the stiff rounded bottom sides that measure about 1-1/4” W X 5-1/4 L . The single cavity pouch measures 5-1/4”W X 5-3/4” L(flexing to 7-1/2” or 8”) X 1-3/8” D.

Tans, Browns and Black, carved in diagonal curvy lines (using a French Curve template) contrast with the teal and oxblood “fields” (which were stamped with random triweave “cloud” texture) create the decorative palette of the flap. Four small turquoise stone rivets, four small nickel plated rivets, and a row of sunburst upside down stamping pattern using those curvy lines add more focus to the flow. And the colors on the pouch under continue the color themes with “mostly” vertical stripes.

The pouch and flap are made of stiffer 4-5 oz veg-tan leather, the gussets are a little thicker. A sturdy back loop can accommodate belts up to 3” wide (not shown in the gallery) and can double as a purse by adding the 3/4” strap/belt that is included in this set, by using the snaps on the ends around the nickel 3/4”d-rings which were added to the top of the side gussets, as shown in the photos.

The 3/4” heavy leather strap, lightly oiled, was brown to begin with. I line carved either side at about 1/4” and dyed those edges black, leaving the interior stripe the original color. Either end is outfitted with a dyed to match lighter weight veg tan 3/4” leather tab that has been rivet and stitched in place, then set up with line 24 heavy duty snaps nickel plated. The nickel tone roller strap buckle is rectangular, sewn and riveted in place Measuring about 40” up to 46” the strap as is fits many frames hip to hip, but can be easily adjusted by putting in more holes larger and smaller. Additionally, this small strap can be hooked around either side of the enclosed antique nickel tone ring to form a narrow belt that can also support the bag as in a fanny pack.

As mentioned above you may purchase either of the pieces by themselves, but the price together reflects the discount offered for the purchase of both. The pouch alone is $90.00 and the belt/strap is 29.00 plus the flat rate shipping rate of 10.00, but you must ask the seller to send you an invoice in order to purchase either of these items alone.
