One piece. This one of a kind leather black purse/pouch features red paisley embossed leather attached with water based contact cement, then saddle stitched to the naturally asymmetrical wavy edged flap and the solid side gussets(see below), and is decorated with an impressive coordinating red enamel big button measuring 2-1/2” diameter (onto which a second swirly black and burgundy button 1-1/2” diameter was centered) an effective unique focal point for this unusual 6 oz veg tan pouch/purse.
The black pocket, scored with wide diagonal lines that meet in the middle (a large herringbone pattern) and accented on either side with a sunburst scalloped border tool stamped stripes which are then painted darker red, is formed by stitching the stiff rounded bottom paisley gussets described above ( 1-1/2 flared to 1-3/4” W X 6-1/2” L) to produce a single cavity pouch (6-1/4” W X about 6-1/2” L, flexible) big enough to carry most cell phones, wallets, keys, and small items for a day of adventuring.
All construction sewing on the pouch body and the flap to pouch is done by using my distinctive overcast and wrapped distinctly primitive technique with waxed “Tiger” thread and reinforced with leathercraft glue on the interior.
I added a second button apparatus—black textured squarish big hole button atop a rough handcut and painted red leather “concho” and under these a smaller leather platform—to the bottom edge of the flap. This button stack serves as the wrap around for the bead tip corset lacing that secures the pouch closed and adds to the decorative balance of the design
The piece can be worn as a belt pouch—the back loop is 1-1/2” wide and will take a belt up to 4” wide. It can also be worn as a crossbody purse by utilizing the 3/4” d-rings which have been attached to the side gussets. These d-rings and the back loop have been glued, riveted, and stitched to assure maximum stability. All hardware is gunmetal tone and all thread is deep grey .
The belt shown in one figure, and the strap shown in the footnote picture are sold separately and are available only on request and as in-stock options allow.
