Rhinestone Frame with Raven Skull 3-D Resin Sculpt on Black Leather Purse/Pouch

$110.00

One piece. This one of a kind leather purse/pouch features a recycled trophy belt buckle consisting of three rows of dazzling rhinestone that form a frame into which a steampunk enhanced resin sculpture of a raven skull has been centered. Both decorative elements were sewn securely onto the stiff natural edged flap ( shape determined by the heavier 8oz veg-tan leather itself). The dimensions of this oddly trapezoid flap are about 9”at the widest by about 8-1/4” at its longest.

The flap flares out right and below the actual pocket and introduces the stamping/carving designs used on the pouch: the shiny decorations discussed above sit atop a French Curved carving that swoops from the upper left to the lower right and is beveled then filled mostly in with a stamped pebbled texture. A small smooth curved painted purple inset adds a splash of color to the black flap which is then finished off with lines and a scalloped border stamp on the asymmetrical edges.

You don’t really see much of the actual pocket as it is mostly hidden by the extended flap which is hand sewn onto the rectangular piece that forms the body of the purse: measures about 7-1/2” W x about 12-1/4” L. The pocket is formed by stitching the stiff rounded bottom gussets ( 1-1/2” W X 5-3/8” L) to produce a single cavity (7-1/2” W X about 6” L flexes up X 1-1/2” D) , big enough to carry most cell phones, wallets, keys, and small items for a day of adventuring. All stitching is done by using my distinctive overcast and wrapped distinctly primitive technique with waxed “Tiger” cord and reinforced with leathercraft glue on the interior.

See below for MORE PRODUCTION NOTES*

The piece can be worn as a belt pouch—the back loop is 1-1/2” wide and will take a belt up to 3-1/2” wide. It can also be worn as a crossbody purse by utilizing the 7/8” d-rings which have been attached to the side gussets. These d-rings and the back loop have been glued, riveted, and stitched to assure maximum stability. The belt shown in one figure, and the strap shown in the footnote picture are sold separately and are available only on request and as in-stock options allow.

MORE PRODUTION NOTES:

The rather stiff veg-tan leather (about 6-7 oz) that forms the pocket is carved and stamped in varying width stripes, two pebble textured to match the French Curve field on the flap, a 3/4” purple painted stripe, a wide smooth black center stripe and the lines/scalloped border around the sides to carry the theme introduced on the flap to the whole project

The flap has been wet-formed on top to naturally close, but is still secured with bead tipped corset string (like shoe lacing) that wraps around a purple painted scalloped leather concho decorated with a large (1-1/2” )showy rhinestone art nouveau bezel that allows the bag flexibility for things that would be too long for a fixed closure. Glued on black suede cloth lining protects the sewn on elements and adds a bit more stiffness and substance to the project.

Can you buy the pouch with the 3/4” black strap? How about the 2” belt? Yes!!!!! Of course you may. . . as long as they are in stock. So you must first contact me and we will connect on discounted pricing and availability. And any other options or ideas you may have.
