Unique Spicy Brown with Black and Blue Stripes "Juniper" Concho Holster and Very Small Wood Sonic Screwdriver

$48.00

Even by Fabriquewerx standards this little Steampunk Sonic Screwdriver and Holster set stands alone, distinguished by its diminutive size . Measuring only 7-3/8” L X 3-1/2” W X 1-1/4” D this brown naturally shaped (almost a hook at the top) scrap that forms the base of the leather holster is carved and dyed java brown with painted light bright blue center.

Two naturally asymmetrical trapezoid tabs of spicy brown chrome tan leather (that have been line carved two times from the edges and painted black, then light bright blue) fold across the main body at about third intervals toward the left of the holster. Stitching with brown waxed thread holds the pieces together, less decorative than functional. The top flap buttons to the holster with a black Sam Brown stud and is embellished at the top with a medium copper screw in juniper concho while the bottom tab is fastened with the small copper juniper concho and decorated with an antique brass plastic gear button.

This holster will fit a belt up to 2-1/4” wide a little wider than the black 2” stamped belt that show in one of the photos. (this belt is sold separately). The very small spindle that is the wooden steampunk sonic screwdriver was already dark brown and red with a metallic top—I added the textured tan shank button at the topper and it tucks into the bottom tab, under the top flap, then lies over the large very dark antique copper flat “gear” that is sewn at the apex of the holster.

Indeed this piece makes an overtly steampunk statement with all the browns, gears and antique metal and then throws the bright light blue in as a curveball, just as our favorite Doctor might do.

TO REPEAT THE BELT SHOWN IS NOT INCLUDED.

Every steampunk sonic screwdriver holster (and the related steampunk wand holster group) is unique because each piece is designed using scraps from my bigger projects. I am inspired by the natural edges of leather in all my builds, but these little holders for basically tubular items are just plain fun. All the weird angles, fluted bits of natural edging and leftover strapping contribute to the fun and when decorative thematic elements are added thru stamping, carving, embossing, colors chosen then dyed and painted, metallic charms, conchos, bezels, buttons further define the individual pieces. Elastic loops are installed to hold smaller items (ie wands) in place and the top and bottom “closures” are added for security and for design continuity. You ask can I buy just the holster? Yes. Though my price for the set is the best value for the money you can leave the wooden steampunk screwdrivers behind by heading to my contact me area, I can send you an invoice for the single piece.

Steampunk Sonic Screwdrivers were born at the height of the Steampunk aesthetic, and named for the tool my favorite Doctor. They were originally made from my basket of leftover auto, appliance and assorted tubes and bits of pvc pipe and other found things. As time went on, I discovered that I wanted a smaller and easier to replace version of steampunk sonic screwdrivers, hence the wooden ones (and why not wood?), and when I came across spinner’s wooden spindles used to make wool into yard/thread, I had found the perfect medium sized pieces to fit into my specialty holsters, It was just natural to add gears, conchos, button and all assorted toppers and to paint colorful stripes to match the holster. You ask—can I buy just the wooden steampunk sonic screwdriver.? Yes. Though my price for the set is the best value you can leave the holster behind by going to my contact me area.
