Unique Java Brown Line Embossed Leather "Gears" Holster and Recycled Parts Steampunk Sonic Screwdriver Set

Sale Price: $80.00 Original Price: $90.00

Larger tubular items need larger holsters to hang on belts. This holster starts with a box of assorted gear charms, conchos, and metal cutouts and a highly irregular heavy leather scrap that is significantly wider at the top than at the bottom, kind of a flat tomahawk shape.

All three pieces of the project were lined carved 2 x rather narrowly around all edges, vertically carved into 1/2” ribs, then dyed brown, dark (bison) brown on the edges and java on the interior. The two flap over pieces that lie opposite directions over the main body and placed at about thirds, are, like the body of the holster, highly irregular—the top larger flap is tied down by wrapping black corset lacing around a leather button topped by large clockwork gear concho, while the bottom is buttoned in with a Sam Brown stud.

The brown waxed thread saddle stitching decorates and attaches the straps, 5 more gears complete the decorations and the recycled steampunk sonic screwdriver holster is tied onto the body with more black corset lacing to keep the heavier sonic screwdriver securely in place.

This one of a kind weapon/tool started with a nickel plated metal (gently shaped) tube to which a plastic bushing (painted gold) fits and screws in securely and was then given a with a rounded knob, painted burgundy , to complete the top, while the bottom is a clear plastic medical cannister from a nebulizer.

This holster will slide onto a belt up to 2” wide. Please note: the black belt shown in one of the photos is not part of this set. This absolutely one of a kind steampunk sonic screwdriver and brown “geario” holster measure about 14” L X 4-3/4” W X 2-1/4” D (not counting the back loop).

TO REPEAT: BELT IS NOT INCLUDED

Every steampunk sonic screwdriver holster (and the related steampunk wand holster group) is unique because each piece is designed using scraps from my bigger projects. I am inspired by the natural edges of leather in all my builds, but these little holders for basically tubular items are just plain fun. All the weird angles, fluted bits of natural edging and leftover strapping contribute to the fun and when decorative thematic elements are added thru stamping, carving, embossing, colors chosen then dyed and painted, metallic charms, conchos, bezels, buttons further define the individual pieces. Elastic loops are installed to hold smaller items (ie wands) in place and the top and bottom “closures” are added for security and for design continuity. You ask can I buy just the holster? Yes. Though my price for the set is the best value for the money you can leave the wooden steampunk screwdrivers behind by heading to my contact me area, I can send you an invoice for the single piece.

Steampunk Sonic Screwdrivers were born at the height of the Steampunk aesthetic and inspired by the tool of my favorite Doctor. They were originally made from my basket of leftover auto, appliance and assorted tubes and bits of pvc pipe and other found things. assembled to fit into the tubular holster style. Each of these are limited, as I no longer have a large collection of these found items, and of course I will never ever duplicate these for obvious reasons. You ask—can I buy just the recycled steampunk sonic screwdriver.? Yes. Though my price for the set is the best value you can leave the holster behind by going to my contact me area.
