Unique Large British Tans Variety Holster with Brass Arlo Conchos and Gold, Royal, Recycled Parts SonicScrewdriver Set

Sale Price: $80.00 Original Price: $90.00

Larger Tubular items need larger holsters to be carried on belts. This nice simple holster, determined by the natural edge on the right side of the piece has been line carved 3 times from the right edge, 2 times from the left, dyed bison brown all around edges, then oxblood , then dark British Tan, and finally British Tan in the center.

The two leather tabs that open sit at approximately thirds and flap to the left side of the holder are embossed with 1/2” ribs then dyed the darker British Tan. Decorative Steampunk elements include a large Arlo concho that wrap ties the top flap in place. An antique brass O ring that extends off the right side of the piece, a black Sam Brown stud that buttons the lower tab to the left, a smaller Arlo concho that sits on the lowest point of the lower flap, and black saddle stitching around all pieces that also serves to hold the strapping to the piece.

This holster is shown with a 2” black belt that is sold separately but the piece will fit a belt up to 3-1/4” wide.

The large steampunk sonic screwdriver is gold painted pvc pipe with pvc fitting, painted copper, blk electrical tape—the top is a pair of wash machine parts—the bottom is wooden conical pot painted copper accented with black drip looks and given a royal stripe. Gears and large faceted plastic “gem” cabachons accent both ends of this piece taken from my collection of assorted “parts.”

The recycled parts sonic screwdriver and Arlo holster together measure about 14” L X 4” W X ” D (not counting the back loop).

TO REPEAT: BELT IS NOT INCLUDED

Every steampunk sonic screwdriver holster (and the related steampunk wand holster group) is unique because each piece is designed using scraps from my bigger projects. I am inspired by the natural edges of leather in all my builds, but these little holders for basically tubular items are just plain fun. All the weird angles, fluted bits of natural edging and leftover strapping contribute to the fun and when decorative thematic elements are added thru stamping, carving, embossing, colors chosen then dyed and painted, metallic charms, conchos, bezels, buttons further define the individual pieces. Elastic loops are installed to hold smaller items (ie wands) in place and the top and bottom “closures” are added for security and for design continuity. You ask can I buy just the holster? Yes. Though my price for the set is the best value for the money you can leave the wooden steampunk screwdrivers behind by heading to my contact me area, I can send you an invoice for the single piece.

Steampunk Sonic Screwdrivers were born at the height of the Steampunk aesthetic and inspired by the tool of my favorite Doctor. They were originally made from my basket of leftover auto, appliance and assorted tubes and bits of pvc pipe and other found things. As time went on, I discovered that I wanted a smaller and easier to replace version of steampunk sonic screwdrivers hence the wooden ones (and why not wood?), and when I came across spinners’ wooden spindles used to turn wool into yard/thread, I had found the perfect medium sized pieces to fit into my specialty holsters, It was just natural to add gears, conchos, button and all assorted toppers and to paint colorful stripes to match the holster.
